Travel Memories with Eileen Hull’s Dies

6 Jul

Happy July Eileen Hull fans! This month the creative theme is “Travel Memories”. How do you like to preserve the memories of your trips and travels? Here we like to use Eileen Hull’s dies and stamps of course! Her various journal dies are perfect for making albums. Over the course of the month, I’m sure we’ll see other very creative ways to document those travel memories too. Let’s jump into this week’s inspiration…

Pam Bray used Eileen’s Full Size Journal Die and a patterned paper collection to create a gorgeous album! It is full of pockets, flaps and other fun elements – plus places ready to add those travel memories. Pay her blog a visit to see all the photos and a video of the fab insides.

Designer Sarah Lizzie used the Passport Book Die, an old favorite, to create this cute little travel book. It may be small, but you can pack a lot of memories into it! Check out her blog for a step by step tutorial.

Scrap Hoarding? – Use Them with Eileen Hull’s Dies!

16 Jun

Are you scrap hoarding? We’ve all got them – those little bits and pieces which we can’t bear to part with, the last of a pack of paper, bits of stamping, collected items for recycling… you get the idea! This month you are going to see the Teams creating with leftovers in projects using Eileen’s dies. Get your own scraps out and make something along with us. Be sure to show us in the Fan Club!

Elizabeth Robinson raided her stash of bits and bobs to create some lovely journal embellishments. This is a great idea! Now she has them ready to go to add to an upcoming journal project. So if you don’t have time for an involved make, you can always make quickie embellishment pieces for the future. Visit her blog post for a closer look.

Designer Jenny Marples had a similar idea to Elizabeth. Utilizing her ample scrap hoard, she created collage postcards and envelopes to use in other projects. Mixed media magic strikes again! I really love these postcards and can’t wait to see how Jenny uses them. See the tutorial on her blog!

Tonya Trantham has a hinged Book Box creation to share with us. She cleverly cut down the hinge piece so she could make the box open from a horizontal orientation instead of vertical. Her layered embellishments on the top are delightful as well. Find the scoop on her blog!

New Sizzix Chapter 2 Dies – Tutorials!

14 Apr

Did you catch the Chapter 2 Release Party of Eileen Hull’s newest dies? There was a Live party and an inspiring Blog Hop! Eileen’s Teams really went to town with the samples. They have a ton of inspirational tutorials planned for you the rest of the month. Here is what Eileen has to say about her new Sizzix Chapter 2 dies,

Notice something different? There are no ScoreBoards dies in this collection! This Release includes two Shadowbox Frames Thinlits sets that also include some decorative flowers and shapes. The pieces may be used interchangeably to create square and rectangular frames. The Shadowbox Elements Thinlits set contains more decorative pieces to embellish your fames with but they may also be used on cards, tags and journals! Topping it off is the Crochet Mandala 3D Embossing Folder that you will just have to have. The detail is absolutely incredible!

This set of dies is very versatile since all of the components coordinate and work together so you can create endless combinations of projects in multiple sizes and shapes. The embossing folder creates a beautiful background for all of the scenes you might want to make, in addition to all the other uses you will find for it.

Thanks for being open to new ways of creating!

The new dies:

So many possibilities!

Fibers, Fabric and Felt Wrap Up

31 Mar

March has come to an end. What a month of inspiration it’s been! The designers used fibers, fabric and felt in their creations and they did a stupendous job. Eileen’s dies (steel rule and Thinlits) cut easily through fabric and felt so the crafty possibilities are endless. We have some bonus projects and ideas to look at this week so let’s get going…

Lisa Hoel got stitchy with her felt and fabric journal cover. The cover pieces were cut out of thick felt using the Book Box Die and then covered with oodles of embroidery and appliqued wool plaid fabric pieces. See more over on Lisa’s blog post!

Guess what material Madeline Arendt used in her stationery Book Box mashup? Wood veneer and she decorated it with pyrography! Wow! She also made a set of notecards to go inside featuring flowers and the Snail Mail Die Set. Find out all her secrets in her post.

She used Eileen’s Wonderful World of Flowers Stamp Set as the pattern for her wood burning.

Jennie Atkinson made a perfectly lovely folio journal using the Book Box Die. It has a beautiful flowery spring vibe and the inside is full of delightful pockets, flaps, tags and other interactive elements. Find more and a video on Jennie’s blog.

More to see, keep on going…

Susie Bentz just couldn’t stop making cards using fabric and the Snail Mail Die Set so she has more to share with us today. It’s such a fun idea and you could easily make a sets of them for gifts or holiday themed to send out to friends and family. Take a look at this darling Easter card she made:

Carrying on the fibers, fabric and felt theme, Elizabeth Robinson made us a video flip through of her fabulous ‘Beautiful Moments‘ junk journal from earlier in the month. You can find it on her YouTube channel here.

Last but not least, Tonya Trantham wins the day with her totally awesome die storage up-cycling project! She turned an old dresser drawer into a sturdy rolling cart to house her Eileen Hull Scoreboards die. She rolls it under a sideboard in her craft room for easy access. Brilliant! Check it out here.

Tune in next week for exciting new dies from Eileen Hull!
