Hurray for fall!! Cooler temps, leaves changing colors, sweater weather…ahhhhh. This month we are focusing on autumn and Halloween themed projects here on the blog. I think we are in for crafty tricks and inspirational treats! Let’s see what this week’s designers have to share with us.

I have to admit I am starting to think about Halloween crafting and it is apparent that so is Julia Aston. Just look at her clever use of the Ornament Box die to create this fabulously spooky little treat container! I especially love how she used one of “stripe” pieces as the moon. Designer Susie Bentz created a seasonal welcome sign to hang on her door. She made it so she can switch out the items in the back of the Truck to match the season or holiday at hand. How fun is that? Learn all the ins and outs to making one of your own in Susie’s blog post.

Mitsyana Wright also used the Vintage Truck Die to make an absolutely adorable slimline card. Wouldn’t this bring a smile to someone’s face? I’ll let you in on a secret – there is a wobbler behind that truck so it bounces around in a most charming fashion! Cooling things down a bit is Maggi Harding’s beautifully elegant Christmas easel card made with Eileen’s Wreath & Snowflake Die Set and gorgeous Graphic 45 patterned papers. Have you guys been enjoying all the creativity shown by the designers in their projects using Eileen Hull’s new Sizzix Dies? Well you are in luck, because we have more Teacup and Post Box Dies projects for you today! Covering a large range of themes and styles, the following makes are a treat for your eyes and you may even learn a new trick or two.

What Eileen says about her two new dies:

I had so many requests for the teacup die (retired a couple of years ago) that I designed a new one for you – the Teacup, 3D & Spoon! What is different about it? This is a Bigz L die (which means a lower price point!), and features a spoon (new), teabag label (could be used as a teeny tiny book!) and insert piece.

This XL ScoreBoards Post Box die was designed to work as a mini mailbox. The slot will allow a gift card/credit card to go through. It would be a fun way to decorate a gift card box for the holidays. And did I mention that assembling this die takes about 10 seconds? Seriously!

Eileen’s New Post Box & Teacup Sizzix Dies

Eileen Hull has two new exciting scoreboards dies to feed our creativity (shipping now!) – the 3-D Teacup Die and the Post Box Die. As always, Eileen’s dies are extremely versatile and the perfect canvases for a multitude of styles and out of the box thinking (or in the box thinking because her 3-D dies make great containers.)

The Great Outdoors Inspiration Wrap-Up

The rest of the Educator Team has definitely jumped into the fall feel feet first! Give us pumpkins, colored leaves and Halloween!

Cleverly using two of the lid pieces from the Treasure Box Die, Jennie Atkinson created a botanical box bedecked with a butterfly, flowers and other found embellishments. Anne Redfern checks the Halloween box with this delightfully spooky outdoor scene featuring Arthur the grumpy owl. Apparently he does not approve of the yowling cat.
