Fall & Halloween Projects Galore with Eileen Hull

21 Oct

For October, Eileen’s Creative Team is using her new Home Sweet Home Collection to make Fall & Halloween projects! Eileen also has a fun Halloween project to make with you during her live today. Scroll on for all the details.

From Eileen Hull…

Happy Fall everyone! It’s getting crisp outside and i have had so much fun working with LEAVES! For a look at what I’ve been making, WATCH THIS quick reel. I’m making some cards out of the embossed and waxed leaves and I love how they are coming out.

It’s also candy corn time 🙂 I found some really cute beads and a new tool the other day. I wanted to try them out and make some earrings to give as thank you’s. I used the Tunnel Arches die to make an earring card – it kind of looks like a tomb shape. Happily, the Library Card die is the perfect size to tuck the earring card in. I even embossed the card pocket – love how these came out! I hope you will join me in making these tonight! Click on the graphic to take you to the video.

When I was in Florence, I found a beautiful paper store called Il Papiro. They had lots of marbled products – books, cards, papers, keychains, bookmarks and folders. I know that the papers were made there because they had a marbling bath set up right in the middle of the store! I bought some loose papers and am going to make a handbound Tiny Book on Thursday’s show. Tiny Books are out of stock, but the same technique can be used with any journal die that you have. If you don’t have any book dies, you can check out my Etsy store 🙂

Fall & Halloween project inspiration from the Creative Team:

Brilliant! Pam used the Tunnel Arches and Windowsill Vase & Flowers die sets to make these darling Halloween treat bags. As she points out in her post, this idea can be easily adapted to any holiday or theme.

Perfect for anytime of the year, Tonya Trantham made this beautiful gift card holder using the Tunnel Arches and Windowsill Vase & Flowers sets. Check out her post for the how-to!

Class update:

Attention California Friends!

Eileen is back and More Sizzix Fall inspiration…

16 Oct

We have more fall inspiration from the Creative Team and Eileen is back from her trip and ready to get back to craftiness! Here’s what she has to report:

Hi all – I am back from an amazing anniversary cruise to Greece and Italy! We went with good friends and it was so nice to travel together and share some unique adventures including a volcanic eruption, an Italian wedding and a torturous hike up a cliff with 150 donkeys.

In Salerno, we found a cool leather store called Bosso – this is a pic of me and Alberto, the owner. We had a nice chat and I bought a purse for me and wallet for Hayward.

I have a little cold but the laundry is done and I am ready to get back in my studio and create!

Join me for a quick trip recap, a look at some of the souvenirs I brought back and a fun idea for creating a Lacy Leaves Banner using the new Lacy Leaves A-5 embossing folder and Tunnel Arches.

On Thursday, I want to re-create my Santorini memories – such a beautiful place. The houses were white and everything else seemed to be blue – the sky, ocean, Greek flag, pottery, art and even clothing – so fresh and crisp! I decided to make a shadowbox using my Shadowbox #2, Shadowbox Elements and Tunnel Arches dies. I’m going to make one for each of the couples we traveled with and give for Christmas.

Fall Inspiration – Projects from the Creative Team!

This month her Creative Team is using Eileen’s new Home Sweet Home Collection from Sizzix to make projects with a Fall/Halloween themed twist!

Maggi Harding created this cool Halloween tag decoration. She used the Tunnel Arches and Windowsill Vase & Flowers die sets plus the Lacy Leaves embossing folder. Check out more details in her post!

Jennie Atkinson made this beautiful autumn mini album using the Tunnel Arches set for the base and also the Windowsill Vase & Flowers set. I spy some Lacy Leaves peeking through the cover too! Watch the video below for a look at the lovely insides and a tutorial.

On the road again…

Attention California Friends!

I am headed out on October 25-26 to teach at the gorgeous Frank Garcia Studio in Upland, CA (located about an hour west of LA). I’ll be teaching two classes. I would love to see you and Frank’s store is definitely worth a trip – I think it is the most beautiful store I have ever been in. (REGISTER HERE)

Halloween & Fall Projects with the Creative Team

8 Oct

September saw the release of Eileen’s new Home Sweet Home Collection from Sizzix and this month her Creative Team is using it to make projects with a Halloween and Fall themed twist!

Pam Bray created a fun filled Fall album! There are so many wonderful details included in this project; you’ll want to head over to Pam’s post to see all the photos. This makes me want to go put on a cozy sweater.

Sarah Lizzie made a whimsical Halloween gift tag with a window cut using the Windowsill Vase & Flowers Die Set as the base. All those fun little details are perfect! See more in her post.

Lisa Hoel used the leftover “center cuts” from a tunnel book (Tunnel Arches Die Set) to make this little mini Halloween book. Fun! Find all the details and more photos in Lisa’s post.

Jenny Marples has great attention to the details and it shows in this fabulous fall themed box she created using the Slotted Treat Box Die. She ended up hand sewing all the zig zag stitching. Eileen Hull Dies Box Bonanza Inspiration

14 Sep

Over the years Eileen Hull has designed many container dies and this month’s theme is Box Bonanza inspiration. The designers are seeing how many different ways they can use her various box dies! You will definitely get some new ideas for your own projects! Let’s see what is in store for us this week…

Jennie Atkinson used the Post Box Die as a holder for a small junk journal. Made in classic Jennie shabby chic style, instructions for making this delightful duo can be found on Jennie’s blog.
