Summer and Sizzix with Eileen Hull Dies

23 Jun

It’s that time of year – temps are rising and you may be feeling footloose and fancy free. This month here on the blog we’ve been getting inspired by summer and Sizzix dies from Eileen. There has been something for everyone from the garden to the beach and traveling all in between! Let’s wrap up June with more summery makes to get your creative juices flowing…

Jennie Atkinson used to spend summers at the seashore in Suffolk and has many happy memories of those times. She created this lovely little memory box using Eileen’s Treasure Box Die and you can find out how to make one of your own on Jennie’s blog.

Educator Sarah Lizzie also created a project to commemorate summers at the seaside using Eileen’s Gift Box Die. She has a full tutorial video for you about how she made it so don’t miss that! You can find the link on her blog.

If you are a gardener, you will love this next idea from Sue Eldred! She has made good use of recycled ‘trash’ and Eileen’s Journal XL Die to make plant ID labels for your flowers. What a creative idea and you could easily make a bunch as a gift for the gardeners in your life. Visit her blog to see how she made them.

Madeline Arendt is happy that we can start traveling again and made this super cute Journal to document her summer journeys. It’s the perfect take-along! Be sure to visit her blog for the instructions and to see the handy features she has built into the interior.

More summer and Sizzix projects to share…

Designer Elizabeth Robinson has her computer working again (hurray!!) and was finally able to share her summer and Sizzix projects with us. It was certainly worth the wait for these clever makes! Elizabeth used Eileen’s Camper Die to make a boat and then an ice cream van! Whaaat? So creative Elizabeth, bravo. Definitely pay a visit to her blog to find out how she used the die to build these darling projects.

Creations From the Educator Team Using the New Dies!

24 Feb

This week, the Educator Team is up at bat! We are continuing to share Folio and Mandala Die project inspiration with creations from the Educator Team. Eileen’s new dies are the ScoreBoards Folio Journal Die, coordinating Folio Page, Pockets and Flower Thinlits set and the Mandala Thinlits die. We have a post full of great ideas for you to try!

Let’s see what’s in store…

Spring is on the way and people are starting to reflect it in their makes. Sue Eldred used the new Thinlits dies to create a delightful floral Tussy Mussy to use as a gift topper. This little piece of spring is perfect as a little gift itself (and could maybe also hold a gift card). Head on over to Sue’s blog to find out how it all came together.

Educator Jennie Atkinson might have flowery seasonal thoughts on her mind too because her Folio collections journal also says spring to me! (Maybe I am the one with flowery thoughts? I’m very excited my daffodils are peeking through.) Anyway, please visit Jennie’s blog for a complete tutorial, tons of detail photos of the lovely journal insides and a video walk-through!

Like more flowers! Thank you Sarah Lizzie for sharing a beautiful spring Folio journal project with us as well. Delicate colors and flowers are sure to make you smile. Sarah has a full tutorial in her post so take a look.

Madeline Arendt made a beautiful card using the new dies. The flower on the card is created from plastic cereal bags! Madeline shows you how to turn trash into art treasure as well as other great tips and techniques in her blog post so don’t miss out!

Wrap Up 2020 with the Educator Team

23 Dec

Gosh golly time has flown! Here we are just two days before Christmas. We hope you have been enjoying all the team favorites posts each week. This Wednesday we’re going to wrap up 2020 with the Educator Team and some of their top picks for projects from this year.

Jennie Atkinson has a beautiful trio of makes for us that she has pegged as her favorites of 2020. Jennie’s forte is shabby chic and her projects are always a delight to my vintage loving heart. Pay her blog a visit to see all the details and links to these project posts.

Also sure to please is Anne Redfern’s eclectic style! She is always coming up with something wonderful to knock your socks off with. I would definitely pick that Arthur Owl Halloween journal as one of my faves too! See Anne’s blog post for a closer look.

Sarah Lizzie has three wrap up 2020 picks for us too! She has shared so many cute projects with us this year and I spy one of my favorites below (hint: it’s the Rudolph gift card holder). Head on over to Sarah Lizzie’s blog to find all the festive details of her round up!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Years from Eileen and her Teams!

Don’t miss out!

We also just wrapped up the Comfort & Joy Event that took place in the Eileen Hull Fan Club! You can find out more information here. We worked on personal journals documenting past and present holiday traditions. Eileen and Teams provided inspiration, techniques and practical ways to create your own personalized journal using any of Eileen’s Sizzix Journal dies as a base. The Event took place in the Eileen Hull Fan Club private group but if you missed it, it’s not too late! All the links and prompts are in the Fan Club so you can still work on your journal. Personally, I didn’t have time to do much with mine but I will have some crafty time with it next week!

We are taking a blog break but find us here the first Wednesday of January with a new theme!

If you missed last few posts you can find them HERE, HERE and HERE.

We have a whole list of fabulously festive projects from the Educators Team…

The Tiny Book and Tiny Book Case Dies are a perfect pairing and educator Sue Eldred has created a Merry Little Christmas version that is merry indeed! She says they are a wonderful little gift or you can use it as a tree ornament. Visit her blog to see more photos and instructions on how to make your own.

Jennie Atkinson cleverly used the Pocket Notebook Die to make a gift box to hold scented tea light candles. It is beautiful and practical and once again just goes to show how versatile Eileen Hull’s dies are. Jennie’s idea can also be easily adapted to fit any occasion or theme, not just Christmas. Bravo! Check out all the details on Jennie’s blog.

I love Anita Houston’s steampunk Christmas style! Eileen’s Post Box Die gets a gear-head makeover and emerges on the other side as a fabulous ornament that doubles as a gift card holder. Shut the front door! Awesomeness. All the details and tons of photos can be found on Anita’s blog.

Teacup & Post Box Projects from the Educator Team!

28 Oct

Well, here we find ourselves in the last week of October. Wow! It has been a month full of inspiring creations made using Eileen Hull’s newest Sizzix Dies. This week’s post will feature Teacup and Post Box projects from the Educator Team. As usual, we’ll see a wide range of styles and themes because Eileen’s dies are the perfect blank canvases to showcase your own brand of creativity.

What Eileen says about her two new dies:

I had so many requests for the teacup die (retired a couple of years ago) that I designed a new one for you – the Teacup, 3D & Spoon! What is different about it? This is a Bigz L die (which means a lower price point!), and features a spoon (new), teabag label (could be used as a teeny tiny book!) and insert piece.

Chapter 4 Eileen Hull/Sizzix Release Party Blog Hop

This XL ScoreBoards Post Box die was designed to work as a mini mailbox. The slot will allow a gift card/credit card to go through. It would be a fun way to decorate a gift card box for the holidays. And did I mention that assembling this die takes about 10 seconds? Seriously!

What Teacup & Post Box treats does the Educator Team have in store for us? Scroll on…

Designer Betsy Skagen used her own line of rubber stamps to artfully decorate her Christmas Wish Post Box project. I love the thought behind this wish box and the vintage styling gives you a warm nostalgic feeling. Betsy has more photos and a tutorial on her blog so be sure to check that out.

Educator Team member Sarah Lizzie also found festive inspiration for her Teacup and Post Box projects. She is sharing the tutorial for these makes that first made their appearance in the kick off Blog Hop Release Party at the beginning of the month. All the holiday touches really get you in the mood for Christmas!

Madeline Arendt really thought out of the box for her clever Christmas ornament designs. Can you see what she used for the bodies of her cute decorations? All is revealed in the tutorial on her blog, plus some other ideas for ornaments too.

Jennie Atkinson also did a some out of the box thinking for her latest project with the dies. She combined the two dies to make a perfect gift for a tea loving friend or family member – a sweet little box filled with teacup shaped coasters! Check out her blog for the tutorial and additional photos of this lovely make.
