New Sizzix Paper Flower Projects

Hello everyone! The Inspiration Team is back again with new Sizzix paper flower projects to inspire you. The team is creating gorgeous projects with my new Paper Flower Party collection and my Twist and Style Tool. You won’t believe your eyes when you see the new Sizzix paper flower projects they have to share with you today!

You’ll find all kinds of creative ways to create paper flowers with the Paper Flower Party collection from cards, to wall hangings, to up-cycled home decor. Let’s take a look at what’s in store for you this week…

New Sizzix Paper Flower Projects

Michelle Zerull gets us started with an inspired up-cycling project. Michelle has created a gorgeous set of Paper Flower napkin rings using the Romance Flower and Spring Leaves dies with Sizzix Paper Leather. With the help of my Twist and Style Tool and DecoArt media she’s created a show stopping decoration for her table.

Next, we have a creative card set from Lisa Hoel. Lisa used many dies and textured impressions folders from the Paper Flower Party collection plus some old favorites from my Picket Fence collection.

How to Make a Gift Card Box with Marjie Kemper

It’s Friday- and today we will see how to make a gift card box with Marjie Kemper! So happy to welcome my friend and fellow New Yorker to the blog. Marjie is so talented and such a fun person to be with. Hi, I’m Marjie Kemper and it’s a pleasure to be featured here on Eileen’s blog. I’m a mixed media artist who started out as a scrapbooker many years ago. I teach mixed media art classes nationwide and online with Craftsy.

I am a huge fan of blending and layering color and I work a lot with Ranger’s Distress Inks. I live in New York with my husband and two sons. Please sign up for my newsletter to get monthly updates.

Gift Card Holder

Today I’ve paired Eileen’s Recipe Box die with Tim Holtz’s Detailed Butterflies die to create a custom gift card holder. These are so easy to make and wonderful to have on hand at the end of the school year for teacher gifts.

Eileen’s Recipe Box die is a favorite of mine because it’s so versatile. It’s a great one for party favors, business card holders, and holiday treats for all the kids in class. I can see cutting lots of them and using them to hold clues for a treasure hunt. It can even hold a mini-album, if you’re a scrapbooker.

I cut sturdy Mat Board with Eileen’s Recipe Box die and colored an old book page with Distress Inks. I choose Mat Board for all my box projects because it is so durable and really holds up over time. Next I cut Tim’s Detailed Butterflies die a few times with both black cardstock and old book paper.

I attached the layers with matte medium and used a brad and spinner to make a cute body for the butterfly. A bit more metal finishes it off and I used a piece of Velcro as a fastener to open/close the box. Some strong red-line tape holds the box edges together.

Paper Flower Party is Here!

Hello creative friends! My new Sizzix collection Paper Flower Party is here! All month long the Inspiration Team will be bringing you creative tutorials featuring Paper Flower Party dies, Textured Impressions folders and my new Twist and Style tool. You’ll find unique ways to add paper flowers to cards, layouts and 3-D projects. Let’s have a look at what the Inspiration Team has in store for you this week.

Paper Flower Party

Tracy Evans starts us off with an inspired project using my new Twist and Style tool. Tracy used the tool to create a whimsical wired flower and handle with my Canister die.

Anne Redfern shares a decadent Candy Drawer project topped with a gorgeous, textured Heart and Soul Flower. This Paper Flower Party project is chock full of color and texture created with Textured Impressions folders and DecoArt Media.

Lisa Hoel also has a fun, floral Canister die project for you to enjoy. Lisa’s Canister features two Paper Flower Party dies, the Romance and Heart and Soul Flower. I just adore how she’s created a lovely lily pad to top her Koi pond style canister. Don’t you just love that Koi stamp? Well you should! It was designed by our very own Nicole Wright!

Hey everyone! We are wrapping up the month of April with Paper Flower Party Tutorials galore! All month-long we’ve seen gorgeous projects featuring dies from my new Sizzix Collection Paper Flower Party. Midge and Madge Mingle Create with Us

Midge and Madge Mingle create with us today! I am on the road and despite internet issues and travel delays, we are able to share theie fun projects with you today. Meet Midge and Madge- they are a party waiting to happen! They had the cutest tea towel project when they came to teach in the Scotty booth at CHA- there was a big line of people waiting to do their Make and Take. Please enjoy getting to meet these talented (and fun!) designer friends…

We are two best friends that love all things crafty. You may have seen us on Create and Craft TV or teaching at CHA. We can turn any time into a good time. Grab a diet coke or your favorite bevy and “Mingle” with us. We love sharing with you project reviews, project tutorials, and the latest and greatest from the world of craft!

Who loves Bling??? Well today’s fun project includes some fabulous bling and an amazing 3-d die. Eileen Hull has created an amazing Scoreboards XL Die by Sizzix! If you don’t know what die I am talking about, this is it!

I met Eileen Hull for the first time, it was at the SNAP conference in April of 2015. Midge and I met up with Eileen again at CHA 2016 where we taught a make and take at the Scotty trailer. Eileen is such a gem, she is super sweet and so full of talent we loved listening to her talk about her very own trailer Scotty. You can read all about Eileen and her awesome travels HERE. Eileen has always had a love for Chipboard and she created the amazing Scoreboard Dies, which is what this awesome trailer die is. Be sure to stop by Eileen’s blog and read more about her and her awesome journey HERE. We love Eileen’s dies and were thrilled and honored to receive this awesome package! What better time to pull out these cute dies and create awesome projects!

Here is the fun Trailer:

Let me show you how I created this fun little guy….
Step ONE

Be sure to take your Scoreboard and cut all of the pieces on the die. You will then want to cut out one more piece that looks like a fence (LOL) and one more tire.
Step TWO

I used a Clear Dazzling Diamond Bling sheet. I took the bling and placed it face down onto the die, and ran it through my Big Shot Machine. I cut three small pieces out of black bling and placed them onto the die with the silver bling. This is for the tires and the hitch. Be sure to repeat the process twice for the side of the trailer. (for the sides of the trailer I cut the bling off along the sides of the large pieces that make up the sides of the trailer)
Take the adhesive off of the bling and adhere to the scoreboard.
Step THREE

Step FOUR
I then took my hot glue gun and adhered the trailer together. Then I added some fun embellishments. I used buttons on the trailer wheels and used Simple Stories Stickers to create the windows and the door, the awning, and the license plate. I took two straight pins to act as the awning poles. Scoring with my score board the awning so it would stand up. I also used another straight pin to adhere the cloud and the sun to, so it looked like the sun and a cloud above the trailer. Taking a black marker to the window and to door to give a little more dimension, and adding the “MADGE” license plate.
This trailer was so fun to make! Bling Out your own trailer! Here is one more look at this cute little guy!!!

Midge used the Flower Pocket Die, and created this cute pocket gift box. There are so many different possibilities that Midge had a hard time deciding which direction to go. The pocket box was a perfect fit for a gift that she was delivering.

Midge used a double sided piece of pattern paper, three rosettes, mini doily, and three feathers. Putting the box together is a snap! Eileen’s dies come with not only the cut the scoring. Assembling this pocket box is a breeze.
