2024 Sizzix Classic Dies From Eileen Hull

25 Jan

These Sizzix Classic dies are favorite designs that you asked to be brought back from the vault! Eileen’s Teams have been hard at work creating with them and are sharing their project tutorials throughout the month. (If you missed the live Release Party, WATCH the replay HERE!)

Here is what Eileen has to say about her new collection:

You asked for it – we did it! The Classic Cantilever Sewing Box, Embroidery Hoop and Needle Book dies have been brought back because you asked. These dies all relate to stitching but of course may also be used in other ways. They are all Bigz dies which are so versatile because of the number of materials that may be cut with them.

I have fond memories of my Mom’s wooden sewing box and designed this Cantilever Sewing Box to replicate that. It’s great for storing sewing supplies like needles, thread, buttons, floss and pins- but it also works for hair bands and clips, small storage items, jewelry, desk organization and small treats. Use the drawers separately to organize your desk drawers or create a shadowbox – so many ways to use! Finished size is 3 1/2” x 6 1/4” x 2 1/4”.

The Embroidery Hoop measures 4” and is designed to be cut from thick material such as matboard or chipboard. You can actually tuck thin fabrics in the hoop and stitch on them. Or you can die cut from paper and use the hoop on card fronts. Use the pieces separately or all together.

The Needle Book is also a ScoreBoard die and features a pretty scalloped edge to the book. It measures 3 1/2” x 2 1/4″ x 1/2″ and is perfect for storing your stitching needles and pins – works great when made from felt! But it can also be made from matboard, chipboard, leather or fabric – one of the benefits of the Bigz dies.

The new dies:

Time for a closer look at the designers’ projects…

Designer Lisa Hoel is sharing her stitched project featuring the Embroidery Hoop Die. She embraced the sewing theme and created a little wall hanging featuring felt, fabric, vintage lace and embroidery. The Embroidery Hoop Die is a steel rule Bigz die so it can cut through thicker materials like mat board. Find more details in her blog post.

Pam Bray also made good use of the Embroidery Hoop Die and created this colorful card. I think this is a good idea for a Valentine’s Day themed project too! It’s such a great combination of die cuts and embellishments. Pay Pam’s blog a visit to see more.

Tonya Trantham has a bonus project to share with us! She created a mini fabric and paper book using the Needle Book Die. So cute! See more in her blog post.

Tags and Pockets – Creations Made with Eileen Hull Sizzix Dies

8 Mar

“Wordsoup, Tags & Pockets” is the new March theme here on the blog! We want to see words and letters used in projects that also combine the new Chapter 1 and older dies of Eileen’s. The designers have been hard at work creating inspiring projects for you. Let’s check out the makes for this week…

Maggi Harding combined sheet music with the Mandala, Tile Alphanumeric and Journaling Card Dies to make a fabulous tag. She uses tags on cards and as studio inspiration among other things. See all the details on her blog!

Time for Sparkle & Shine with Eileen Hull inspiration…

Pam Bray created a gorgeous holiday decor piece incorporating Eileen’s Sunflower and Geometric Box Dies. This month the designers are also doing a collaboration with Sizzix to use their new Cork Surfacez in their projects. The word on the street from them is that the cork is a dream to work with and looks fabulous. I agree! Pam used it on the background and also embossed on it to make the flowers. Fabulous! Find all the details in her blog post.

Sarah Lizzie also made good use of the new Sunflower Die by creatively using the cuts to make poinsettia ornaments. I love this idea! Sequins form the sparkly center in a perfect finishing detail. These would be great as package toppers or anything that requires a little festive touch. See how to make one in Sarah Lizzie’s post!

Remember me mentioning that the Comfort & Joy Event is coming up? Well here is a sneak peek of the beautiful Christmas journal that Karen Bearse will be teaching on the 5th! Wow! Karen always has great mixed media techniques to share and I’m sure participants will learn all sorts of nifty things during her time. Check out Karen’s blog for the details.
