Marvelous Makes Made Using New Chapter 3 Dies

17 Aug

Did you miss Eileen Hull’s new Chapter 3 Die Release Party at the beginning of the month? Go to this link to watch the Party replay! The inspiration was fabulous! For the rest of the month the designers will be sharing tutorials for their amazing projects made with the new Chapter 3 dies. Here is what Eileen has to say about her new dies,

“I am so excited to share my Chapter 3 Sizzix die collection! Each piece in the set stands alone but also coordinates with the others to make a truly versatile and valuable addition to your collection.

The ScoreBoards Skinny Mini Book Box is a really great size – it measures 6 3/4″ x 4″ with an adjustable built in spine from 3/8″ to 2 1/4″. This die may be used to create a book by die cutting two covers OR a box if you add the side pieces to the covers. If you add the box supports, it will hold mini-slimline size cards.

The Skinny Mini Elements Thinlits will cut a cool star pattern that perfectly covers the front of the Skinny Mini book or the front of a slimline card. And you can also expand the size of the design to create a whole page pattern.

I have been wanting to make a Card Caddy Die for a while… so many people are making cards these days that I figured that they would love to have the ability to make a really pretty container to hold them. I love the shape of this box and it goes together so quickly – also fun to decorate! It will hold cards up to 5 1/4″ wide.

The 3D folder is called Woven Leather and it looks so realistic! Makes a great background for cards, journal pages or covers.“

If you missed the Blog Hop, here is the post where you can find all the links.

‘Out of the box’ thinking:

Lastly, super clever Susie Bentz turned the Skinny Mini Book Box into a cigar box with a pull out drawer! Whaaaat?? I love it! This is such a great idea to use the die to make a gift box and could be adapted to all sorts of themes. Susie shows you how to create it in her blog tutorial.

Now for the Chapter 3 inspiration!

Jennie Atkinson created a beautiful shabby chic vintage looking booklet to fit inside of the Skinny Mini Book Box. So inspiring! Jennie has a tutorial video on her blog so go take a look and learn all her secrets. 😉

Eileen’s dies are perfect for card making and other “2-D” applications like scrapbook pages! Designer Susie Bentz created a dreamy layout using a photo from her wedding day and the Skinny Mini Elements Die (as well as the Heart Mandala Die). The handy thing about the Elements Die is that you can repeat your cuts to make as big a piece as you like. Susie shows how in her tutorial.

Bona Rivera-Tran is a prolific creator of fabulous makes and often utilizes Eileen’s dies. She recently created two Chapter 3 projects for the release. Here’s a peek and you can find all her inspiration on her Instagram account.

Saving Travel Memories Wrap Up!

27 Jul

This month we’ve been looking at ways of saving travel memories. Eileen Hull’s dies and stamps are perfect for documenting your vacations and travels! Her various journal dies are great for making little albums for a start. Of course, you can go beyond albums and make home decor pieces too and Eileen’s dies are also well suited for that. Let’s see what the designers have for us this week and wrap up the month!

Let’s kick off with a fabulous fishy (in a very good way) Folio journal created by Jenny Marples! The WOW factor is strong with this make! Apparently fellow teamie Elizabeth Robinson has a collection of gorgeous digital paper kits for sale and Jenny used one called ‘A Little Fishy‘ for her journal. You MUST visit Jenny’s blog to see allllllll the inside photos. Prepare to be amazed.

Seriously, how did I miss that Elizabeth has designed these wonderful digital kits?????

Designer Madeline Arendt created a useful little travel journal to keep in the car. You can keep track of travel info, receipts etc. in a stylish way. Madeline used the Pocket Notebook Die to make it fit perfectly in the glove box but any of Eileen’s journal dies can easily used to make your own road trip journal. Love it! The map on the cover is perfect. See all the details on Madeline’s blog.

For added inspiration, here are some throw-back saving travel memories projects:

Last summer, Lisa Hoel created two tag journals to document her family’s camping trips. She housed each journal in holders made using Eileen’s Camper and Truck Dies. What a fun idea! Pay her blog a visit to see inside the journals and for the tutorials.

Jennie Atkinson also has a fun project to share from last summer. She used Eileen’s Treasure Box Die and created a vintage feeling shadow box to commemorate her childhood visits to the seaside. There are so many wonderful details included! You can get a closer look in her blog post.

Preserving Travel Memories with Eileen Hull’s Dies

13 Jul

How do you like to document the memories of your trips and holidays? Not surprisingly, we like to use Eileen Hull’s dies and stamps of course! Her various journal dies are perfect for making little albums. This week we have two designers from the Team sharing their inspiration for preserving travel memories. Let’s see what they have for us…

Jennie Atkinson has been on some fun trips with her old school chums and she created a fabulous shabby chic box in which to store the ephemera and mementos. It’s made from the Book Box Die and it’s full of folders to organize everything. I love that vintage vibe! Find more photos and a tutorial video on Jennie’s blog.

Designer Susie Bentz wanted to have her travel memories on display so she reached for the Shadow Box Frame Dies to create these decor pieces. This is such a versatile idea! Adapt it to preserve the memories for any event or trip! Find all the details and instructions in Susie’s blog post.
