2024 March Release – New Eileen Hull Sizzix Dies


Welcome to the 2024 March Sizzix Release Party of Eileen Hull’s newest die collection! We are celebrating with a Live party and this Blog Hop! Eileen’s designers have been hard at work creating with Eileen’s great new dies and have loads of inspiration for you.

Here is what Eileen has to say about her new collection:

I’m so happy to introduce this brand new collection of mine from Sizzix! As always, I try to create designs that may be used together but also stand alone. There are four pieces in this set.

The Storage Box is an XL ScoreBoard die measuring 4” square, the largest square box yet! This box is constructed with a removable top and may be used in many ways, such as organizing desk and office supplies, as a gift box, storing craft supplies and packaging for baked treats.

The Mini Book is one of my favorites because you can create a book using this die in an evening, and use up your scraps in the process. This book measures 3 3/4” x 2 1/4” and comes with a strap/handle and tiny label for the book cover. It also makes a great bag topper if you fold it in the middle and also will hold a business card. Die cut it from felt and stitch up a tiny wallet!

There is a new Thinlits called Faux Postage – the full panel is designed to fit on a 5” x 7” card and creates a fun postage stamp effect. You can also cut (or tear) each stamp apart and use the individual pieces as a miniature work of art! These dies coordinate with similar dies: Snail Mail (A-2 card size) and Mini Slimline (6” x 3”).

The Lace 3D Embossing Folder is so amazing! It’s a new LARGE size measuring 8 1/2” x 5 3/4”. It works great on bigger journal covers, card backgrounds and on home decor pieces. This is created from vintage lace that I have collected and there are so many ways I want to use this!

February “A Stitch in Time” Sewing Theme Wrap-Up

Here we are at the end of February! It has definitely been a month full of inspiration. In January Eileen Hull had her Sizzix Classics Die Release and the designers continued creating more “A Stitch in Time” sewing themed projects for February. The team shared their projects which included slow stitching and machine stitching but were also based around the sewing/stitching theme.

Sue Eldred created a sleek and chic jewelry box using the Cantilever Sewing Box Die. Such a great idea! This is a great gift idea (include some jewelry too!) Find more details in Sue’s blog post.

Elizabeth Robinson used the Cantilever Sewing Box Die to create a project that is beautiful and practical! It perfectly holds spools and bobbins of thread (love it!) She is going to keep it next to her sewing machine to organize her commonly used thread colors. Find all the details here.

Designer Maggi Harding created a magnetic needle book using the Needle Book Die. It is quick and easy to make – perfect for a gift! Maggi used embossed felt and foam adhesive sheets to make the cover (great idea!) See the tutorial on her blog to learn how to make your own.

Jennie Atkinson made a sewing box inspired by her grandmother’s box, stuffed full of notions and memories. The base was cut using the Book Box Die and decorated on top with a Embroidery Hoop Die cut. She made dividers inside for a Needle Book plus other bits. Find the tutorial video on her blog!

Valentine’s Day bonus project…

The Cantilever Sewing Box Die can be used for all sorts of different projects. Lisa Hoel gave hers a Valentine theme and filled it with candy. So sweet! It makes a great treat box. Designer Sarah Lizzie also used the Embroidery Hoop Die as a base for this bright and cheerful Valentine project packed with felt flowers. On her blog, Sarah Lizzie shows how she used another classic flower die of Eileen’s to create these rolled blooms. It’s a great die hack!

January Wrap Up – New Sizzix Classics Die Release

It’s time for our January wrap up post! These Sizzix Classic dies are favorite designs that you asked to be brought back from the vault. Eileen’s Teams have been hard at work creating with them and are sharing their project tutorials throughout the month. (If you missed the live Release Party, WATCH the replay HERE!)

Here is what Eileen has to say about her new collection:

You asked for it – we did it! The Classic Cantilever Sewing Box, Embroidery Hoop and Needle Book dies have been brought back because you asked. These dies all relate to stitching but of course may also be used in other ways. They are all Bigz dies which are so versatile because of the number of materials that may be cut with them.

I have fond memories of my Mom’s wooden sewing box and designed this Cantilever Sewing Box to replicate that. It’s great for storing sewing supplies like needles, thread, buttons, floss and pins- but it also works for hair bands and clips, small storage items, jewelry, desk organization and small treats. Use the drawers separately to organize your desk drawers or create a shadowbox – so many ways to use! Finished size is 3 1/2” x 6 1/4” x 2 1/4”.

The Embroidery Hoop measures 4” and is designed to be cut from thick material such as matboard or chipboard. You can actually tuck thin fabrics in the hoop and stitch on them. Or you can die cut from paper and use the hoop on card fronts. Use the pieces separately or all together.

The Needle Book is also a ScoreBoard die and features a pretty scalloped edge to the book. It measures 3 1/2” x 2 1/4″ x 1/2″ and is perfect for storing your stitching needles and pins – works great when made from felt! But it can also be made from matboard, chipboard, leather or fabric – one of the benefits of the Bigz dies.

Madeline Arendt had a brainstorm and came up with a clever project using the Embroidery Hoop Die. She used cuts from the die to make frames for dream catchers! What a great idea; I love it! She made several different ones so be sure to visit her post to check them all out.
