Eileen’s New Post Box & Teacup Sizzix Dies

14 Oct

Eileen Hull has two new exciting scoreboards dies to feed our creativity (shipping now!) – the 3-D Teacup Die and the Post Box Die. As always, Eileen’s dies are extremely versatile and the perfect canvases for a multitude of styles and out of the box thinking (or in the box thinking because her 3-D dies make great containers.)

What Eileen says about her two new dies:

I had so many requests for the teacup die (retired a couple of years ago) that I designed a new one for you – the Teacup, 3D & Spoon! What is different about it? This is a Bigz L die (which means a lower price point!), and features a spoon (new), teabag label (could be used as a teeny tiny book!) and insert piece.

Chapter 4 Eileen Hull/Sizzix Release Party Blog Hop

This XL ScoreBoards Post Box die was designed to work as a mini mailbox. The slot will allow a gift card/credit card to go through. It would be a fun way to decorate a gift card box for the holidays. And did I mention that assembling this die takes about 10 seconds? Seriously!

What has the Team cooked up this week with the new Post Box & Teacup Dies?

Julia Aston is sharing the tutorials for her Blog Hop projects. She used the 3-D Teacup Die to make a festively fragrant holder for a bag of balsam needles. Wouldn’t this be a wonderful hostess gift for the holidays?

For her Post Box project, Julia made this oh-so-cute Santa letter box. What a wonderful Christmas decoration! You could even make something like this into an ornament for your tree. All the details and tutorials for both of these projects are in her blog post.

Maggi Harding also decked out her Post Box Die makes for the holidays! Take a look at these darling Christmas wish boxes. She suggests making them for the kids in your life so they can fill them with gift ideas. Sounds pretty handy to me for “Santa”! Visit the blog post for a tutorial and plenty of photos.

Designer Susie Bentz came up with the brilliant idea of using the Teacup Die to make a mini album of all her grandniece’s adventures over the years on the Teacup ride at Disney World. Isn’t that perfect! You can see how she did it in the tutorial on her blog.

Mitsyana Wright brings us back to the holiday at hand with her fabulously Halloween-y makes! I love the vintage feel of the papers she chose and the fun embellishments. Also, now I know that dark chocolate Reese’s are a thing and I’m in trouble! I’m not sure I should thank Mitsy for that lol. Check out her blog post for all the details.

Eileen has two new exciting scoreboards dies for us to play with (shipping now!) – the 3-D Teacup Die and the Post Box Die. What Eileen says about her new dies:

Team Project time!

Now let’s take a look at some of the Inspiration Team makes! Karen Bearse used the 3-D Teacup Die and the Stacking Drawer Die to cleverly create this tea bag caddy. This is such a creative idea! As she points out in her blog post, you could apply this same idea to many different sorts and themes of organizers. Don’t miss her post for a complete tutorial!

Designer Lisa Hoel used the new Teacup Die to create a piece that celebrates her favorite season – fall! She used a 3-D embossing folder to create the woodgrain on the teacup and a tree rings die to create a ‘saucer’. Check out all the details on her blog.

Jenny Marples knocked it out of the park with her Teacup Die creations! She used stamping and coloring to replicate the look of real china teacups. Brilliant! (The blue one is my favorite. 😉 ) I’ll spill one of her secrets too. She embossed the teacups with Eileen’s clear embossing powder to really hit home with the porcelain look! Visit the blog post for a tutorial and plenty of photos.

Jam Packed Junk Journal Ideas!

5 Aug

It’s a new month (August in case you were wondering – it’s a valid question these days!) and that means a new theme here on Eileen Hull’s blog! All during August the Inspiration and Educator Teams will be sharing jam packed junk journal ideas with an emphasis on different things you can do on the insides. I can’t wait to see what creative makes everyone comes up with. You will be inspired I am sure. Eileen has designed so many different album/journal dies that you have endless possibilities for any type of journal you can think of.

Eileen Hull’s Journal Dies:

Journal
Pocket Notebook
Wrapped Journal
Passport Book
Notebook
Tiny Book

Inserts/Pages:

Of course, it’s up to you how big you want to make the insert books that go inside the journals, but here’s a guide to help you get started.

The Pocket Notebook and Passport Book dies contain elements on the dies to create pages that fit in the book, but don’t worry… small books can be found in discount and stationery stores that are pre-made and inexpensive if you don’t want to make your own. Inserts are really easy to do though!

Now let’s take a look at the dies in action! Pam Bray has used a gorgeous paper collection with the Pocket Notebook and many other dies to create fabulous junk journal insides. Wow, the designs are so lovely and the pages are full of tuck spots, tags and other interactive details. See Pam’s blog post for all the eye candy and ideas.

Julia Aston crafted the cutest little Tiny Book junk journal full of clever embellishments. It is indeed jam packed with all sorts of fun bits. Head on over to her blog post to see what vintage item she up-cycled to include in her mini journal.

If one junk journal is wonderful, how about a junk journal that has a matching baby journal to go with it? It’s double the awesome factor, that’s for sure! Karen Bearse created this dynamic duo and wow, it looks wonderful. You will not want to miss all the goodness tucked inside these guys! Be sure to visit Karen’s blog to catch it all.

Cork Fabric Journal Creations!

17 Jun

Yes, MORE cork fabric June Journal creations are here and the collaboration with Belagio continues! The team is really enjoying creating with the Belagio Cork Fabric. Durable and user friendly, the fabric can be easily die cut, sewn by machine, combined with fabric, paper or pretty much any substrate you can think of. Thin sheets of real cork are laminated to a fabric backing so it is very flexible and durable. It’s perfect for covering three dimensional projects like boxes, books, and home decor pieces. Additionally, you can also use it to create 3D flowers and other embellishments… Living up to the Belagio motto: You are only limited by your imagination – this fabric will expand your creative possibilities!

FIVE Journal Projects from the Inspiration Team…

We have a full plate of inspiration coming your way right now (scroll on down!) As always, there is a wide range of styles and projects to get your creative juices flowing. First let’s take a look at a beautiful Notebook Die project from Jenny Marples. Wow! She used new Sizzix Sculpting Foam for the purple flower and I love how the bloom just pops on the natural tones of cork fabric. Her blog post has all the details!

Tonya Trantham has also created a gorgeous Notebook Die project for us to enjoy. She added heavy gel through a stencil to add texture to the cover. You can still see the cork fabric through the gel however and it’s such a lovely effect! See more photos and details on her blog.

She cleverly solved the issue by making a snazzy cover for it using the Pocket Notebook and Trinket Box Dies. I think you’ll agree that it’s a stand out! See her blog post for all the details.

Anna-Karin Evaldsson hasn’t been able to receive international mail because of the slow downs so she didn’t get her Cork Fabric samples in time. Being a very resourceful person however, she created a delightful Tiny Book with some sheets of regular cork from her stash. Check out the tutorial on her blog!
