Happy autumn everyone! This month here on the blog we are celebrating fall themed projects made with Eileen Hull’s versatile Sizzix dies. We’ve seen some inspirational makes over the past few weeks and there are more for you this week too. Scroll on…

Eileen Hull herself is getting in on the fall theme with this gorgeous decoupaged Pocket Notebook journal. She documented the creation of it over the course of three different making sessions. For Part 1 of the decoupage journal project, watch the free class Eileen just taught at Fave Crafts. Part 2 and Part 3 are viewable on her YouTube channel. Check it out!

Designer Tonya Trantham made a pretty slimline fall themed card. The base is cut using the Journal Die and she decorated it with flowers cut using the Floral Silhouettes Die Set found only at Scrapbook.com. This style of card is a great way to use up scraps of patterned paper! Find all the details in Tonya’s blog post.

Sizzix Surfacez Cork Roll + Eileen Hull Dies

30 Nov

Sizzix has a magical material in their Surfacez line, Cork Roll! It can be die cut, stamped, embossed and used in all sorts of interesting ways. As a collaboration, Sizzix sent some to several of the designers on Eileen’s Teams for us to put it through its paces. Get comfy and enjoy this recap of all the inspiration…

Sizzix Surfacez Cork Roll

Did I also mention that you can sew the Surfacez Cork Roll? Check out this cute little pouch Eileen Hull made using her Tiny Book Case Die and sewing up the sides. Hmmm… I wonder if a gift card could fit in there?

Jennie Atkinson made a fabulous traveler’s journal with the Cork Roll with stamping and stitching. Awesome! Find the tutorial and more details on her blog.

Pam Bray’s festive make showcases Cork heat embossed flowers cut using Eileen’s Sunflower Die. This decor piece really packs a visual punch and would be a perfect touch in your holiday decorations. Find the details on Pam’s blog.

Using the Surfacez Cork Roll as the background substrate for her Full Size Journal cover, Maggi Harding also demonstrates how well the cork accepts different medias. Head on over to her blog post to see!

Another beautiful cork covered journal was created by Sarah Lizzie. Her Happiness journal is delightful and I especially love the dry embossed hearts in the centers of the sunflowers. Find the instructions on her blog!

Keep going… more Surfacez Cork Roll inspiration to see!

Madeline Arendt made a double sided basket using the Cork Roll and Eileen’s Geometric Box Die. Two geo boxes put together is a great configuration. I also love the delicate cork die cut decorations on the fronts. See how Madeline constructed this project in her blog post.

Gearing up for 2023, Lisa Hoel created a calendar with a cork covered base cut using the Display Stand Die. It’s embellished with foiled texture paste and a glam flower cut with the Sunflower Die. See all the details in Lisa’s blog instructions!

Summer and Sizzix with Eileen Hull Dies

23 Jun

It’s that time of year – temps are rising and you may be feeling footloose and fancy free. This month here on the blog we’ve been getting inspired by summer and Sizzix dies from Eileen. There has been something for everyone from the garden to the beach and traveling all in between! Let’s wrap up June with more summery makes to get your creative juices flowing…

Jennie Atkinson used to spend summers at the seashore in Suffolk and has many happy memories of those times. She created this lovely little memory box using Eileen’s Treasure Box Die and you can find out how to make one of your own on Jennie’s blog.

Educator Sarah Lizzie also created a project to commemorate summers at the seaside using Eileen’s Gift Box Die. She has a full tutorial video for you about how she made it so don’t miss that! You can find the link on her blog.

If you are a gardener, you will love this next idea from Sue Eldred! She has made good use of recycled ‘trash’ and Eileen’s Journal XL Die to make plant ID labels for your flowers. What a creative idea and you could easily make a bunch as a gift for the gardeners in your life. Visit her blog to see how she made them.

Madeline Arendt is happy that we can start traveling again and made this super cute Journal to document her summer journeys. It’s the perfect take-along! Be sure to visit her blog for the instructions and to see the handy features she has built into the interior.

More summer and Sizzix projects to share…

Designer Elizabeth Robinson has her computer working again (hurray!!) and was finally able to share her summer and Sizzix projects with us. It was certainly worth the wait for these clever makes! Elizabeth used Eileen’s Camper Die to make a boat and then an ice cream van! Whaaat? So creative Elizabeth, bravo. Definitely pay a visit to her blog to find out how she used the die to build these darling projects.

Summertime Fun, Crafting Style with Sizzix

9 Jun

For the month of June, the theme here on the blog is Summer Adventures! The Teams have been creatively cooking up summertime fun, crafting style using Eileen Hull’s Sizzix dies to great effect! Eileen’s dies are the perfect blank canvas to showcase your creativity and are so versatile. Let’s take a look at what the Inspiration Team has for us this week…

Julia Aston created a darling kids’ grab and go activity kit using the Folio Journal. So creative Julia! The Folio opens up to reveal treats and fun things to keep a kiddo busy with on the spot entertainment. The cheerful circus theme compliments the idea perfectly. See all the details in Julia’s blog post.

To me summer also means time in the garden and lots of flowers! Susie Bentz made a delightful card with summer colors and flower embellishments made with the Folio Page, Pocket & Flowers Die Set. Who wouldn’t love to get this in the mail? A tutorial and more photos await your viewing on Susie’s blog.

This year, summertime means travel time!

Maggi Harding is getting ready to embark on a motorhome adventure out west and made a travel journal to document the trip. She used the Journal XL Die and gorgeous Graphic 45 papers for its construction. (Did I mention I love those papers??) More photos and a video are on Maggi’s blog so don’t miss that!

One of the fun things about making a junk/travel journal is that you can also make all sorts of fun bits to go inside of it. Tonya Trantham created this absolutely fabulous project using a jumbo paperclip and Eileen’s 3-D Camper Trailer Die. This would be great to use in a journal, as a bookmark or to clip on just about anything! Tonya has a tutorial on her blog so head on over to check it out.

26 May

We have more projects made with unconventional materials and Eileen Hull’s Sizzix Dies to share with you this week! That is the theme we’ve been working with for this month of May and Eileen also wants to see your projects made with creative materials and her dies. In fact, there is a contest going in the Facebook Fan Club so be sure to join the group if you haven’t already. (You have until the end of the month to enter the contest!) This is our May wrap up post and we have several awesome projects from the Educator Team and some ‘Part 2’ posts from last week. Grab a beverage and get comfy.

Inspiration awaits…

Jennie Atkinson is the one who is responsible for this month’s theme. (Bravo Jennie!) Find out the story in her blog post. In the meantime, look at the beautiful tag book she created! Whatever did she use for the base? 😉 Better go find out! You can see it here.

Christmas is Just About Here…

18 Dec

Is it time to panic? I must admit I’m feeling a bit rushed with all the “to do” on my to do list. And there are still Christmas crafting projects I have in my head that I want to make. At least the web is full of crafty inspiration for us, even if we can’t find all the craft time we need for ourselves. (Crafting vicariously? Is that a thing?) It just so happens that we have a load of inspiration right here, right now…

Cue the super awesome Inspiration Team and their crafty goodness!

First we have a delightful December Daily Journal from Tonya Trantham. I love that snowman couple with the retro flair! Check out Tonya’s blog post where she gets real about her daily December life. Plus there is pom-pom trim. You want to see it – seriously.

Secondly, Jenny Marples has created a fabulously marvelous felt embroidered journal. Wow! Head on over to her blog post to read all about the story behind this gorgeous creation.

Jenny Marples for Eileen Hull – felt embroidered flowered journal

Anna-Karin Evaldsson did a favorite Eileen Hull projects of 2019 round up for our viewing enjoyment. You will ohh and ah over all her fabulous projects (five of them). My personal favorite is this birch trees journal but the embossed cover notebooks is a close second.
