Cookie Box Ornament

21 Dec

I just loved this idea that Shelly Hickox came up with! She used the bottom part of the Cookie Box die

Quick and Easy Journaling Cards

20 Dec

I posted over on the Sizzix UK blog today about some Journaling Cards I have been working on. Having just returned from a week at Disney World with my family (including two toddlers), there was not much time to craft. But luckily I had pre-cut a stack of cards that I was able to pull out at the airport and after the kids had gone to bed to get a little creativity time in. (I get antsy when I don’t have time for that!)

I used the Recipe Card Box and Recipe Card & Label to work on.  These dies may be found in your local scrapbook store or on line- click on links below.

659876- Recipe Crad Box

First, you will need to cut a stack of cards using the Recipe Card & Label die.

659870- Recipe Card & LabelI cut mine from chipboard and white and black matboard (you can get a nice chalkboard effect using white pen on black board!).

Then I come up with a word or phrase- it can be anything. Mostly I do these cards when I am watching TV with my husband or like yesterday, while traveling. I look on them as practice- then I don’t feel pressure for them to be perfect. Let your mind and hands just enjoy the pleasure of writing and making shapes.

All you need to doodle on the cards is a pencil, eraser and permanent black pens of different thicknesses.

Holiday Gift Boxes

18 Dec

Christmas is only one week away and you can never have enough gift boxes. These two boxes are waiting for just that special present to be placed inside. I love the mechanical toppers that look like music box keys!

Donna used the Blocks/Cubes die to create this cheerful set of red and white boxes. The extra bonus is the unique hand- sculpted  snow person that Donna made. She is a whiz with clay. I was very happy to receive a Halloween sculpture from her when we met up along the Paper Trail in Colorado.

Head over to Donna’s blog to see how she created this festive collection!Donna-B-B Boxes-with-sculptureThanks for stopping by.  Is your shopping all done?

Quick and Easy Gift Boxes

17 Dec

Hi everyone, Nicole here back with a “quick” wrap it up gift!  We all know how it goes.  There is always a last minute gift to throw together.  This easy mini present needs a little bit of paper, perhaps from the scraps and some embellishment.  A small ornament, piece of chocolate or favorite tea bag as a gift and you’re done and wrapped!

I’m all boxed up!

12-9-2014_7-28-57_AM

I cut the middle box from the Eileen Hull Blocks/Cubes, 3-D with chipboard.  I used this pretty foiled paper like wrapping paper.

12-9-2014_7-27-48_AM I cut the middle size Bow Tied bow some Kraft-Core Seasonal Impressions.

12-9-2014_7-28-41_AM

Inside I used a small silver jingle ornament.

The Thinlits Labels are perfect for this small label stamped “Believe”

12-9-2014_7-29-41_AM I picked these jingles last year at the $1 Store.

12-9-2014_7-30-09_AM

If I’m making one I might as well make a few.

12-9-2014_7-30-30_AM

These boxes are quick to make and decorate.  It took me about 45 minutes to make all 3.

12-9-2014_7-31-17_AM

A wee embellishment for the front.  Gumdrops and holly leaves.

I hope this fast last minute idea has inspired you.  Check out your scraps of paper and left over embellishments to throw this together in no time.

Happy Holidays

Nicole

Faux Metal Loaf Pan

10 Dec

I love to collect vintage bakeware. In fact, that’s what inspired this whole Vintage Kitchen collection!

vintage-pans

For as long as I can remember, every time I would go in a thrift store, my eyes were drawn to the baking pans and the cool patterns that were embossed into their sides. I use the pans for display, to hold business cards, small collections of stuff, craft supplies and occasionally, I even bake in them 🙂 [Read more…]

First up we have our resident Artist Trading Block Engineer Anne Redfern.  I know, I know…I can’t believe this Christmas Carol House was constructed from ATB’s either!  I’ve always said that ATB’s are the” building blocks of creativity”  but Anne takes that statement to new heights with her amazing creations!

Let’s go Dashing through the snow to Anne’s blog for a carol or two and a look at this incredible ATB Christmas Carol House.

Speaking of Christmas Carols, how gorgeous is this Cookie Canister by Pam Bray?  I just adore that Partridge on top and the three-dimensional pears…who needs a tree? 🙂  All in all Pam has combined Graphic 45 “12 Days of Christmas” Papers with my new Canister die from Vintage Kitchen beautifully!

Stop by Pam’s Blog for more details on this gorgeous Christmas Cookie Cannister.

Lisa Hoel has even more creative ideas for packaging cookies for Santa.  This darling Christmas Tree topped Cookie Box is so cute I wouldn’t even care if there were no cookies in it 🙂Christmas Tree Cookie Box by Lisa Hoel

Jingle on over to Lisa’s blog where she will have you “Rockin’ around the Christmas Tree” with every adorable detail she’s included in this project.
