Card Bonanza in September with Eileen Hull!

Welcome to September Eileen Hull Fans! This month is a card bonanza and all about using Eileen’s dies and stamps to create cards. Give them, mail them, hoard them – it is fun to create handmade works of art. Let’s see what the Inspiration Team has for us to kick off the month!

Pam Bray starts us off with a Card Caddy box filled with colorful cards. She also uses the Woven Leather 3-D embossing folder to wonderful effect on the caddy and all the matching cards inside. Pay her blog a visit to see them all and the details of how to make this fab project.

Sarah Lizzie’s elegant card features the beautiful lattice die Skinny Mini Elements. This die doesn’t cut the outer edge so you can repeat cut to make a larger expanse of the lattice design. Check out the details on her blog!

More card bonanza ahead, keep going!

Designer Karen Bearse also made a fabulous mixed media Card Caddy to inspire us. She discovered that it’s the perfect size to hold the 3-D Embossing folders so her plan to make it a card holder went out the window lol. Eileen Hull Chapter 3 Release Wrap-up!

Here we are at the end of August and it’s time for the Chapter 3 release wrap-up! We’ve been sharing all month long and hope you have found ideas and techniques to use in your own projects. Go to this link to watch the Release Party replay if you missed it at the beginning of the month. Here is what Eileen has to say about her new dies,

“I am so excited to share my Chapter 3 Sizzix die collection! Each piece in the set stands alone but also coordinates with the others to make a truly versatile and valuable addition to your collection.

The ScoreBoards Skinny Mini Book Box is a really great size – it measures 6 3/4″ x 4″ with an adjustable built in spine from 3/8″ to 2 1/4″. This die may be used to create a book by die cutting two covers OR a box if you add the side pieces to the covers. If you add the box supports, it will hold mini-slimline size cards.

The Skinny Mini Elements Thinlits will cut a cool star pattern that perfectly covers the front of the Skinny Mini book or the front of a slimline card. And you can also expand the size of the design to create a whole page pattern.

I have been wanting to make a Card Caddy Die for a while… so many people are making cards these days that I figured that they would love to have the ability to make a really pretty container to hold them. I love the shape of this box and it goes together so quickly – also fun to decorate! It will hold cards up to 5 1/4″ wide.

The 3D folder is called Woven Leather and it looks so realistic! Makes a great background for cards, journal pages or covers.“

Eileen’s dies are perfect for card making and other “2-D” applications like scrapbook pages! Designer Susie Bentz created a dreamy layout using a photo from her wedding day and the Skinny Mini Elements Die (as well as the Heart Mandala Die). The handy thing about the Elements Die is that you can repeat your cuts to make as big a piece as you like. Susie shows how in her tutorial.
