Mitsyana Wright

I am a self- proclaimed “CRAFTING NUT” and love many crafts including cardmaking, scrapbooking, mixed media, journal making and… pretty much any and all paper crafting!!  I’ve been crafting professionally for the last 4 years and currently am on several design teams including, Eileen Hull Designs, Xyron, Clearsnap, and  Diamond Press.  I am married to my best friend for 13 years and we have 4 beautiful, energetic, crazy-smart, and highly imaginative kids (I think they get it from their mama). They are my crazy and chaotic world that I can’t get enough of and wouldn’t trade for them for anything! They are what push me and drive me but also keep me grounded. My family is my center and what inspires most of my work and without their love and support, I would not be able to do what I do. Follow Mitsyana on her blog Up On Tippy Toes, Facebook and Instagram

Maggi Harding

Hi, I’m Maggi Harding and I’m a southern gal, residing in Tennessee. These days I am a happily retired, stay at home, crazy, paper loving, scrap artist, living with my husband and two standard poodle girls. We love to travel and the girls always go on the road with us in the RV, otherwise known as the Rolling Doghouse. And yes, I have a “mobile” studio in the Doghouse. Making 3D objects from paper and flowers is my favorite thing to do! You can find Maggi on her blog, Scrap, Travel & Bark, Facebook and YouTube!

Lisa Hoel

Hello, my name is Lisa Hoel and I’m a lifelong craft lover. I’ve been ‘arting’ ever since I first picked up a crayon! Paper crafts have been my main focus for the past fifteen years or so and I love to make detailed, layered, textured, mixed-media type projects. I am not usually a clean and simple type artist. 😉 My background is in graphic design and I’m blessed to be married to the greatest guy in the world and have two dynamic boys. You can find me on my blog, Creative Juice Fresh Squeezed,  Facebook  Instagram and Pinterest.

Jenny Marples

Jenny is a designer, educator, demonstrator who has been part of several Design Teams for a number of years. Her work has been featured regularly in several magazines and e-publications. She loves experimenting with a range of mixed media and can be found on her blog, Facebook and Pinterest.

Elizabeth Robinson

I live at the seaside in beautiful North Wales, UK where my four beautiful rescue dogs keep me on my toes. We have beautiful beaches, woodland walks and the best ice cream on the planet, right here on our doorstep. I love all things mixed media, but you will also find me drawing and playing with watercolours. I love to upcycle items found in charity shops, and give them a new lease of life, there’s something very satisfying about it. I was so excited when Eileen invited me to be on her Inspiration Team at the start of last year, the dies are such clever designs and make amazing bases to add your own style on to, I am very proud to be part of this amazing team. My blog is The Crafty Robin and you can find me on Instagram here.

Anna-Karin Evaldsson

I am Anna-Karin Evaldsson and I started papercrafting in 2002. How lucky I am to have found the joy of making art from paper, dies, stamps, ink and paint. I enjoy switching between different types of projects: cards, mini-books, art journaling, layouts, canvases and 3-D/home décor.  Many of my projects are mixed media and I love to try out techniques. Every project is a creative adventure and the possibilities are truly endless. You can find Anna-Karin on her blog, Layers of Ink, Instagram and YouTube.

Susie Bentz

I am a crafter at heart and have been creating all my life.   I enjoy learning new techniques and playing with new products and then I love to share it all in the classes  I teach locally and across the country.  Over the years I have been privileged to work with a variety of manufacturers as a designer, educator and blogger.  I have a very understanding husband and 3 adult children so I can almost always find time to play in my craft room every day.   One of my favorite quotes is from Leo Buscaglia, “Your talent is God’s gift to you; what you do with it is your gift to God.” Follow Susie Bentz on her blog, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and Twitter.

Karen Bearse

My name is Karen Bearse and I am a lifelong crafter who currently likes getting as inky as possible! As a technique junkie there are few products I have not experimented with. My favorites are mix media, book making, art journal and throwing together the occasional mini-album. I am married with 3 kids and minion to a confident Siamese cat. Thrilled to be back with the gals on the Inspiration Team! You can find me on my blog, Instagram and  Facebook.

Tonya Trantham

I’m married, a mom and “T-Mommy” (grandmother) living in southeast Tennessee. As long as I can remember I have always had that “need” to create whether crafting, altering, junk journaling or even remodeling. I just love being busy with my hands. I’m a member of AFCI and design for several different manufacturers and have been published in various craft magazines and e-books. If I am not crafting I love to read and spend time at the beach with my husband with our toes in the sand. Spring Things with Eileen Hull Inspiration Team

17 Mar

It was 70 degrees here this week in sunny Virginia and that means it’s time to see some Spring Things from the Eileen Hull Inspiration Team!

Spring Things with Eileen Hull Inspiration Team

Julia Aston sets a gorgeous table! Check out the adorable place cards/treat boxes she made for Easter here. The dies she combined to create this project were the Place Card and Stacking Drawer.

TIP

One of the good things about ScoreBoards dies is that you can mix and match the pieces to make something totally different than what the die was meant for. Don’t be limited by what the picture on the die looks like. Think outside the box and do some experimenting like Julia did above. So cute!

Lisa Hoel made an out-of-this-world Space Adventure in a Box  complete with aliens! There are so many amazing techniques and unusual materials that she used to make it in addition to the Stacking Drawers and Treasure Box. Make sure to head over to her blog to see how she did it all.

Anna-Karin Evaldsson made this DIY Watercolor Birds Pen Holder using the Treasure Box and Stacking Drawers dies. I love her pretty watercolor birds! And do you put your pencils in tip up or tip down? Can you mention in the comments?

I hope that you enjoyed seeing all of these Spring Things with Eileen Hull Inspiration Team- I know I did, as always!

For tips and tricks with ScoreBoards dies, please join me on my twice weekly Facebook Live shows at Eileen Hull Designs– Tuesdays at 6:00 pm EST and Thursdays at 4:00 pm EST. You are also invited to join the Eileen Hull Fan Club-  a friendly, talented and encouraging community of crafty folks that you will want to meet. Join on Facebook and don’t forget to answer the questions! You can also find me on Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest

Thanks for stopping by- see you next week!

Meet Eileen Hull Educators!

11 Mar

I am so excited to announce a new partnership- you are invited to meet Eileen Hull Educators!

At Creativation this past January, I had the opportunity to talk with many well-known industry “big shots” when I was demoing my new dies in the Sizzix booth :-).  Some kindly let me know they enjoyed working with my dies and I had an idea- start a group of educators who are spreading the ScoreBoards love!

As you scroll down, you will see many super-talented teachers, writers, designers, YouTubers, past Inspiration Team members, bloggers and artists who will be sharing their work with us.

How was this group chosen?

I have known most of the artists for a long time. What they all have in common is a love for making outstanding creations using my Sizzix dies.  They are teachers who know how to use my products and show others how to use them in their classes, videos, demos and writing.  I love that!  There is nothing more exciting than collaborating with fellow creatives and I am so honored that they agreed to join me in this new venture.

Where will you see them?

Could be anywhere! You might find them on YouTube with a video tutorial, at a trade show teaching a class, sharing a magazine article they have written, teaching a class in your area or sharing a project they have posted on their blog. I asked this group if they would share their work with me so I can pass their fabulous creations along. They have graciously agreed and now we all can be inspired by their designs.

So now, in addition to my amazing Inspiration Team, you’ll be meeting the artists you see below whenever they pop in with an EH project to share! I encourage you to welcome them to our community and follow them on social media. Here they are…

Meet Eileen Hull Educators

I’m Anita Houston, aka The Artful Maven. I love everything about Art and have tried it all, but mostly dabble in Mixed Media, Paper Crafting, General Crafting, Encaustics, and Painting, and I currently have a line of stamps. I’m on the road a lot, teaching and demoing in the U.S., but mostly in Texas as that’s where I’m from. I truly love what I do, and get such a sense of fulfillment when participants in my classes radiate with the joy of creating something. I LOVE using Eileen Hull’s dies, and am thrilled to be a part of her team, as well as her friend.  You can see my work, tutorials, and products on my website or follow me on Facebook,  Instagram and Pinterest

Anne Redfern has been a designer/blogger for eight years.  She is an established member of several Design Teams and enjoys working in a friendly team environment.  Anne enjoys working in 3D, mixed media, in varying styles and she loves sharing her ideas and techniques with like minded friends and crafters on her blog, Redanne, Facebook and Instagram

Annette Green grew up in a creative family with an artistic father, crafty mother, and aunts who would teach her to knit and crochet. She’s made her creative journey through life with traditional art, quilting, decorative baking and eventually scrapbooking and card making. Today she’s a busy blogger at Annette’s Creative Journey, teacher, YouTuber, and Etsy seller, sharing her paper crafted creations through tutorials, kits and classes, specializing in 3-dimensional, functional pieces.

For Betsy Skagen (which rhymes with toboggan), her previous careers as a news reporter, commercial writer, graphic designer, small business owner and mom of special needs individuals helped develop the skills she now uses as artist and product designer. Betsy has long used art to balance the hectic lifestyle of her ADHD, unicycling and tightrope walking family. She lives with her husband, son, daughter and two big dogs in the arctic circle of Minnesota. Yes, some of her family really does walk the high wire and ride unicycles, but so far only the dogs have mastered counter-surfing. Follow Betsy on her blog, Paper Calliope.

Hi Everyone! My name is Bona Rivera-Tran and I love anything papercraft. I’m a mother to four amazing girls and a wife to a wonderful husband. I’m excited for this new adventure and look forward to sharing with you my projects. Follow Bona on You Tube, Facebook, Pinterest, Blog and Instagram.

Debbie Bankston is a lifelong crafter, artist, demonstrator, instructor and designer. In her paper crafting world she enjoys creating with die cuts and sharing her tutorials on YouTube. She creates projects daily in her small studio in south Georgia. Follow Debbie on Facebook and YouTube.

My name is Ginger Ropp. I love creating with paper. I love to make cards, 3D projects, folios and mini albums. I have been actively papercrafting for over 10 years. Follow Ginger on her blog and YouTube.

Jonathan Fong turns DIY into D-I-Wow. He is the author of “Walls that Wow,” “Flowers that Wow” and “Parties that Wow” and is the host of “Style with a Smile” on YouTube. Although he had been designing interiors, florals and events, he had never crafted until he discovered the Sizzix Big Shot and the joys of die-cutting. It changed his life. Find Jonathan on his website,  Facebook, instagram and  YouTube.

No matter how much time passes in my life, there will always be time to enjoy the creative process. The desire to be creative never grows old, it must be in my DNA! “Live life to express, not impress”. Follow Madeline Arendt on her blog, Madeline’s Thoughts, and Facebook.

Kathy Clement is an avid papercrafter , designer and blogger with  a vision to educate and inspire others to discover the joys of creating.  She designs for Authentique Paper, The Button Farm Club, The Funkie Junkie Boutique, Really Reasonable Ribbon, Heartfelt Creations and is a Graphic 45 Brand Ambassador Alumni.  She resides in North Carolina with her darling husband of 43 years, her 5 fabulous adult children and 3 adorable granddaughters.  You can follow her on her website, Kathy by Design, and Facebook.

Donna Kauffman has been a craft educator since she started teaching in her mother’s craft shop at age 12.  A dedicated paper crafter and instructor for more than sixteen years, her favorite projects include designing unique mini albums, journals, and folios. She produces digital tutorials and kits for most of her projects as well. To learn more, drop by  her website, MiniBooksRMe or check out her YouTube channel.

I took my hobby where it’s all about playing with crayons and inky fingers… oh then I created a business.  I educate through inspiration and technique with the goal of getting the mixed media artist in you to open up and explore your own creativity. I’m a Influencer for Amazon, DecoArt, Dynasty Brushes, Ranger Ink and I’m a Contributing Writer for Creative Scrapbooker Magazine.   Are you ready to make a mess… trust the Process. Find Nicole Wright on Facebook and Instagram.

I am a DIY, paper crafting, picture taking, creative kind of gal (also kind of an organizing nut)!  I love to find good junk to re-purpose into great treasures. Keep up with Sue Eldred on her blog, Sue’s Creative Workshop, Facebook and Instagram.

I am a freelance designer, enjoying my creative journey experimenting with stamping, mixed media etc., incorporating lots of layers, texture and vintage finds whenever I can into my eclectic pieces. I have been following this journey for over 20 years and I am delighted to design for several magazine publications and to have the opportunity to design my own stamps through AALL&Create all of which combine beautifully with Eileen’s products. I am looking forward to experimenting further with Eileen’s dies and my stamps and hope you will ride along this journey with me. Absolutely thrilled to be an Ambassador for Eileen’s products and I am looking forward to sharing my journey with you! Follow Tracy Evans on her blog, Facebook and Instagram.

Having been a paralegal for over 20 years, I am well familiar with the daily grind of the 9-5 world, etching out pockets of time here and there to hone my craft (usually after kids were in bed until wee hours of the morning). During my employment with Sizzix, I was able to share my eclectic style using many mediums as well as teach project classes to consumers and retailers alike. My real passion is to create projects and teach classes which I hope to start doing again on a regular basis; even if only in my basement! I am excited for the opportunity to share my love of art with and through Eileen; she is a talented, lovely lady and a dear friend. Find Wendy Cuskey on Instagram, Facebook and Etsy

So on to the project… I decided to create a Memory Box for storing holiday treasures such as 3″ x 4″ Journalling cards, Instax photos, gift tags and notes.  The box is covered with gift wrap- this is a great alternative to patterned paper. There are so many festive holiday patterns this time of year. I find it easiest to adhere the paper to the matboard first, then die cut the whole piece at once.
The Trinket Box is a Sizzix ScoreBoards die which is specially designed to cut and score thick materials so that the end result is a sturdy project. (You can find the die in my Etsy store) It is designed to have multiple uses- books, boxes, frames, shadowboxes, and drawers- all from this one die!

Supplies

  • Sizzix Big Shot Machine
  • Sizzix Little Sizzles matboard- white
  • Sizzix ScoreBoards Book & Pages, Trinket Box and Frame by Eileen Hull
  • Sizzix Thinlits Floral Arch & Words by Eileen Hull
  • Therm O Web Easy Cut Adhesive Sheets
  • Therm O Web Supertape 1/4″
  • Clearsnap Blends inks by Eileen Hull (Ebony)
  • Emerald Creek Craft Supplies Merry Christmas Stamp
  • Emerald Creek Craft Supplies Softly Falling Snow embossing powder
  • gift wrap
  • jingle bells
  • dark green and off white cardstock
  • Zip Dry glue
  • hot glue gun
  • velvet ribbon
  • 2 glass knobs

Instructions

Here’s a video showing how to assemble this die (it starts at about 36 minutes)

  1. Cover 2 sheets of matboard with Easy Cut Adhesive on the front and back. Add wrapping paper to both sides. Die cut: 1 frame, 1 frame piece with NO oval cut out, 1 binding strip, 2 shadowbox frame pieces, 1 rectangle
  2. Add adhesives on tabs and build shape. Attach 2 shadowbox frame pieces together at end tabs and form into rectangle.
  3. Stamp Merry Christmas with Ebony Blends ink on off-white cardstock and position behind aperture of frame (front cover).
  4. Die cut about eight branches from the Floral Arch die from green paper. Dab blobs of glue on leaves and add embossing powder, then heat. Glue on colored jingle bells. Add a small red velvet bow.
  5. Adhere front cover to back of binding tab. Place binding back tab under shadowbox section of box.
  6. Hot glue glass knobs to bottom of box so it can stand up. Position in the middle of the box so it is balanced.

Winter Wishes Blog Hop

Join me Tuesdays and Thursdays for Facebook Lives and join the Eileen Hull Fan Club on Facebook for the BTS look at what people are creating from these dies- so inspiring! Christmas Planner

Although every year I try to be prepared for Christmas,  it’s usually not until after Thanksgiving that the Christmas spirit kicks in. But now this year I have a head start 🙂 In order to get organized for Christmas, I decided to make a planner using my Sizzix Journal.

I can keep my holiday calendar, gift lists, recipes, photos and receipts all together inside this handy dandy planner.

Supplies:

Sizzix ScoreBoards Journal by Eileen Hull

Sizzix ScoreBoards Trinket Box by Eileen Hull

Sizzix Little Sizzles, white (2 sheets)

Therm O Web Rebekah Meier Adhesive sheets

Therm O Web 1/4″ SuperTape

Christmas Papers by Paper House Productions

1.5 mm elastic

faux red velvet fabric, embellishments, charms, beads

Instructions:

  1. Cover front and back of two sheets of matboard with desired papers. Run first sheet through Big Shot with Journal die, making sure to rotate paper direction on the second pass. The right side of the paper should be facing the die.
  2. Line up covers with binding strips together. Add SuperTape to end tab of back cover, leaving holes open for elastic, and adhere front and back cover together.  If you don’t have SuperTape, wet or hot glue works too.
  3. String a length of elastic through each of three sets of binding holes. Tie ends together, creating vertical bands down the interior of the journal.
  4. Cover a piece of matboard with adhesive and place faux red velvet on top. Die cut Trinket Box frame die with oval cutout in place. Find a photo or holiday themed text paper and place inside the opening of the Trinket Box frame. Place double sided adhesive on the back and stick to cover of journal. Add ribbon, bells, snowflake metal stamped date to cover.
  5. Buy or make insert books to fit inside the book. Use cardstock and patterned paper to create the book insert covers and vintage sheet music, ledger paper or copy paper to create the insert pages. See my Facebook Live video tutorial on how to make inserts here.
  6. Add ephemera to inside Journal pages. Add charms to the top outer loops of the Journal.

Please follow me on Facebook at Eileen Hull Designs. Tune in for Facebook Lives every week- Tuesdays at 6:00 EST and Thursdays at 4:00 EST. Join our creative community, the Eileen Hull Fan Club, for amazing samples, inspiration, questions/answers, giveaways and friendship!

Prizes!

If that isn’t enough we have over $100. In crafty prizes including the entire line of Rita Barakat diecuts/ephemera and fabulous paints and glitters from @plaidcrafts! This is going to be awesome!!!

To enter to win you must visit and comment on each post! Bonus, stop by and like the Plaid FB Page!

In one week the winner will be announced on Rita’s Facebook Live show on Monday, Nov 19, 8pm CST on Mixed Media Monday!
