Inspiration from the Educator Team – It’s in the Cards!

27 Jan

January is just about over but we have one more post chock full of card inspiration from the Educator Team! Eileen has three new Sizzix Chapter 1 dies that just got released, the Mandala Thinlits Die, the Folio Page, Pocket & Flowers Thinlits Set, and the Folio Journal XL Die. As you’ve seen this month, the first two Thinlits sets are so versatile for card making! Scroll on to see more…

Educator Sue Eldred created a darling floral pocket folio card using Eileen’s new dies. The bright and cheery colors and fun interactive element would make this card a delight to receive in the mail! I think it’s a clever to make a little corner pocket to hold the actual card. The layered effect is quite lovely. See all the details in Sue’s blog post.

Jennie Atkinson created a trio of gorgeous shabby chic cards. Wow! Her creations are also beautifully layered and have a romantic delicate look. As you’ll see in Jennie’s post, these designs are perfect for using up scraps of your favorite patterned papers. Check out her blog to see all the cards and her tips and tricks.

Using classic floral favorites from some Eileen’s past die designs, Sarah Lizzie made a beautiful card with felt flowers over an embossed background. (Eileen’s dies, both steel-rule and thinlits, cut felt perfectly). It gives a card such a tactile look! Visit her post to see the tutorial.

Valentine’s Day is around the corner and Madeline Arendt put together a fantastic card for the occasion. The Mandala Die doily is a perfect backdrop for all those cute valentine hearts and inside is a little surprise! You’ll have to head on over to Madeline’s blog to see what it is and how she put this card together.

Card Creations & New Chapter 1 Dies from Eileen Hull

20 Jan

Have you been inspired this month to make some card creations and send someone a little happy mail? The Inspiration Team has been cranking out the greeting cards to share with you. I am always amazed at how makers can use the exact same dies and have their projects be so wildly different. It just goes to show how versatile dies are as tools! Eileen has three new Sizzix Chapter 1 dies that just got released, the Mandala Thinlits Die, the Folio Page, Pocket & Flowers Thinlits Set, and the Folio Journal XL Die. The first two Thinlits sets are proving very popular with the teams for card making! Let’s take a look…

Elizabeth Robinson created a beautiful floral card using the two new Thinlits dies and some gorgeous colors of cardstock. Who wouldn’t love to get a cheerful card like this in the mail? You can find more info on Elizabeth’s blog so check that out.

I am loving how Jenny Marples cut the flowers from the Folio Page, Pocket & Flowers Die Set out of vellum. Popping off from the mixed media background, they still let you see a bit of it through the petals. Delightful! Don’t miss Jenny’s post with all the details.
