Art with Heart Challenge August “Choose Your Own Theme”

4 Aug

Hello there creative friends!  Wow can you believe we are in our final month of summer?  Here at Art with Heart we want to end the summer with a bang so we’re going to let YOU choose your own theme for the August Art with Heart Challenge!  Not only that, we’ve got an awesome Sizzix prize pack that you can win just for sharing your creations with us.  For this challenge we encourage you to dig deep into your stash and break out some oldies but goodies and make them new again!  Use forgotten dies, stamps, trims, techniques or what have you and make them new again with a fresh project.  The theme you choose is completely up to you!

Art with Heart Challenge August "Choose Your Own Theme" The Inspiration Team will be creating projects with some of my older dies from my earlier collections.  One lucky winner will receive a prize pack of dies the IT is creating with!  Let’s see what the girls have in store for us this week….

Tracy Evans is sharing a “birdy-ful” bonanza of creativity and technique with her “Take Flight” Artist Trading Block creation.  Using one of my older sets Birds and Butterflies with one of my ATB dies she’s made the old new again and chosen a lovely theme to go along with it!

Pam Bray has combined my old and new dies to create one phenomenal creation!  With the help of my Make it 3-D die, luggage tag die, and other old favorites Pam has created a spectacular Luggage tag house expertly decorated with DecoArt Media and Graphic 45 Olde Curiosity Shoppe papers.

[…] “Anytime” Note Cards Supplies List: – Sizzix Big Shot Die Cut Machine – Sizzix / Eileen Hull Designs Die – Borders & Hydrangeas – Sizzix / Eileen Hull Design Embossing Folder – Polka Dots – 3 note cards (can be any color, I used kraft color and purchase them in a pack at Michaels) – 3 pieces of colored card stock (4 by 6 inches) – Aleene’s Turbo Tacky Glue – Bling Gems (I used Darice – I buy the huge bag ‘o bling at Michaels.) – Twine (I use Maya Road and usually buy it at Amazon.com) Step 1.  Run your colored card stock through your Sizzix Big Shot using the Borders & Hydrangeas Die.  You can cut about 3-4 pieces of card stock at once through your Sizzix Big Shot (time saver!!!).  For 1 of the cards I ran the front side of the card through the Sizzix Big Shot using the Polka Dots Embossing Folder which gives a nice texture to my card. Step 2.  Next, you can glue your die cut pieces onto your cards.  I played around and quickly came up with some cute designs.  I used my Aleene’s Turbo Tacky Glue to adhere the die cut pieces to the cards and also for the bling gems and the twine. Step 3.  You can stamp (or write on) the back of your card to share that your note card is handmade!  I love my Expressionery self-inking stamp that I can use for all of my cards for family and friends.   Here is a sample of what my stamp looks like: Thank you for stopping by my blog.   I hope you will take time to visit Eileen’s blog too and enter her Giveaway contest, here is the link:  http://www.eileenhull.com/2015/08/art-with-heart-challenge-august-choose-your-own-theme.html […]
