Paper Flower Roundup

1 Apr

Happy Spring everyone! Flowers are the theme for our Designer Craft Connection hop this month. Make sure to hop around and see all of the amazing projects created by the talented designers in this group. Just click on the blue button in my sidebar and follow the webring.

I made an Easter bonnet for the Sizzix UK blog on Saturday using my Sizzix 3D flower dies. For instructions on how to assemble the hat, look here. Here’s a video tutorial on making Coffee Filter Flowers used in the hat.

My son and six year old granddaughter were here for Easter and Trinity just loved this hat and asked if she could wear it to church. I said sure but had not glued in all of the flowers and told her she had to be careful with it so the flowers didn’t fall out. She hardly moved the whole time so I am saving it for the next time she comes to visit 🙂
Thanks for stopping by- hope you had a great weekend!

Coffee Filter Flowers

28 Mar

We are back after a week long cruise with our family! Since my son was in Afghanistan for Christmas we decided to celebrate his homecoming with a trip. What a fun time- I am so lucky to have them all.

All of the beautiful tropical flowers on the trip inspired me to make some of my own for a project on the Sizzix blog today. Go there for written instructions on how to make these pretty 3D colored flowers.

After posting about how to make flowers from my husband’s shirt, I had requests for a video. So here it is… and it only took me 5 hours this time to make a four minute video! Please tell me at some point it will get easier… sheesh.

Hello all! I am back from CHA– still recovering from a crazy, tiring, exhilarating and fun week. For a look at some of what happened, go to the Sizzix UK blog and see some of what went on…
Here’s a pic of me standing in front of my new Sizzix collection called Picket Fence. The display was so beautiful- I loved it!

More coming soon…  Eileen

Gearing up…

9 Jan

The Craft and Hobby Show is almost here! It is held in Anaheim from January 11-15 and everyone in the craft industry (pretty much) is there- designers, manufacturers, store owners, publishers, press- everyone wanting to check out what is new and exciting!

My preparations were even more compressed as we just returned for a week in FL to arrive home with 9 days till show- uh, not good… Thankfully, my amazing and talented friends Pam Keravuori, Amy Powers and Kitty Gallanis came over yesterday to help me make kits and samples of my new Sizzix release, Picket Fence. Everything came out so great! I love seeing what can happen with my stuff when people start playing with it.

Here are some pics of the fun…
I did not make Amy sit on the floor- I swear!
 Pretty daffodil… and smile 🙂
Pam Keravuori can doodle on just about anything! And so beautifully…
New canning jar die design… Amy called on her way home and said I have an idea!
Ask Pam to write Hull like Ball canning jars- genius…
Kitty makes an amazing mini album using two new dies… super cute.
Thanks to Kitty the Kitter, kits for the workshop Friday night are assembled.
 Mess piling up…

Pam at the Big Shot…

OK back to the trenches- I fly out on Thursday so wish me luck 🙂

Meet Eileen

I grew up in a big family where there was always an art project in the works. Learning to think creatively has been a huge benefit throughout my life: from thirteen military moves and raising four children to developing product lines for craft manufacturers. Come visit and see a slice of my life...
