Kim Evans of Emerald Creek

26 Feb
I am very happy to introduce our talented Guest Designer for today, Kim Evans of Emerald Creek!  We met at CHA through Inspiration Team member Nicole Wright. Kim is a designer and business owner, running Emerald Creek, an on-line craft supply store in Canada.
Here are two projects that Kim has designed for us today with an Alice in Wonderland theme. She has used the Sizzix Passport Book and Needle Book to tell the story…

Here’s more about Kim in her own words…

Kim-Evans-of-Emerald-Creek1

My Husband & My Kids are my Joy! I love family activities, especially camping. My husband and I are high school sweethearts and have been together over 20 years. We celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary last fall and we have been blessed with 2 beautiful children, Isaac (4) and Vienna (2).

In 2012, I had the opportunity to begin the move from home building to rubber stamps, thanks to an offer from my Uncle Gerry Beazely of GCS Artstamps. How could I resist. I grew up stamping and have watched the industry change.

Being an Entrepreneur type I have been using my creative mind, combined with my business sense to expand into a few new lines. I am excited and ready for the challenge of this new career. I am passionate, ambitious and disciplined, so I am excited to use all of these skills while working at my hobby. How cool is that?!

If you want me to describe my style in a word it “Random”, I love everything so you may be hard pressed to say, oh that a Kim (Emerald Creek) project. I can appreciate so much, even if its not my particular taste, i love seeing how others think and work and love to challenge myself to try everything once.

This latest journey can only be described as Wonderland.

…..’it all started with a random email from Eileen, asking me if I wanted to do a guest post.

“What?! Are you meaning for me to get this, or were you hoping to cross-promote with my design team? Or do you want me to donate products?”
“Actually I think people would be interested to see something from you personally if you are up for it. You are coming at things from a different perspective than most of the designers that will be highlighted so I think people will be interested…”
“YES! Of Course!” and then I started thinking about her dies. I love books, so naturally the passport book was a must, but then, I had the needle book die I was dying to use, which brought me to the big and small of Alice in Wonderland…. read more at the Emerald Creek Dare Blog to finish the story and see all of the charms, stamps, techniques, inks and mediums used to bring the story of my Wonderland Story to life.
