Vintage Trailer Progress

24 Mar

So sorry it has been quiet on the blog but it has been a beehive of activity here at HQ getting ready for the big #PaperTrail Tour expedition this week!

The weekend was beautiful. So on Saturday, I spent the day working on my vintage camper. There had been some water damage and we protected the roof with two coats of sealer in the fall but it needed the final coat of protectant. On the can it says the temperature should be 60 degrees before attempting this.  I had been waiting all winter for one nice day.

So I sealed the roof… which was a horrible messy smelly job. In the process I ruined my favorite sweatshirt. And then the drip happened… this brownish silver sludge dripped down over the corrugated shade and it would not come out despite frantic wiping. In fact that smeared it even worse. Luckily the glossy  white paint (that works on aluminum) had already been purchased so I just started painting. It took a good part of the day but I finished! It looks so much better and I am excited to drive it now. I’ll do a whole post on painting it later but for now- all I can say is…

Life is too short to use old masking tape. Yuk.

Just a quick before and after…

Never did like that weird yellow colored awning. Now it’s all nice and clean and white. Probably not for long though…

It looks so much better! Wait till I show you the final version. Love it!

Packing this baby up right now…

You did a TERRIFIC job with all of it and I’m sure your little trailer is so happy to be freshened up:) Hope you got the little scottie dog ornament I sent you at Christmas. Wanted to e-mail you awhile ago but it’s been hectic. Having problems with blogger again too. Happy and safe TRAILS to you…..!
