It’s HOT…

6 Aug

…so the thought of slipping down to my nice cool studio and working on some new projects is especially inviting (yes, this is the same CHILLY studio I am cursing in the winter). While at CHA I was given some products to experiment with… and my brand new ScoreBoards are out! I have to test them for myself and make sure that they really work (I am always SO happy/relieved when they do)… and then there are the projects for the book proposal that have to be done by the end of the month. To sum it up, I am a happy camper!

I’ll be sharing some projects with you in the next few weeks. Make sure to tune into Cool2Craft this coming Monday where I’ll be showing one of my favorite new designs.

Here’s a look at the project I created using the Scalloped Box die and demo’d at the Craft Studio at CHA. See my blog at the Memory Keeping Collection for instructions.

Quick Project

3 May

Just a quickie project for you today. I made this for my daughter Jessica and for the life of me I can’t remember why! The pic was on my camera… I was sending her something… oh well.

I do know how I made it though 🙂 I cut out the Notebook Pocket from white matboard and ran it though the Big Shot with an embossing folder. I folded up the box and tied a bow at the bottom to cover where the folder changed pattern. I cut a J from my Serif Essentials alphabet and adhered it to the front of the matboard pocket. From green cardstock, I made a simple matching card using the ScorePal to emboss some accent lines and a quick stamped sentiment. The whole thing was packaged in a cello treat bag found at Target- can you believe it had these cute little matching green flowers on it?

I hope you can join me for Cool2Craft today at noon! We’ll be doing a blog hop recap and talk about upcoming events. If Eileen can figure out all of the proper cords, chips, cards and electronic devices, we hope to broadcast live from a very exciting venue on Cool2Craft in two weeks!

Laura Bray’s ecourse, Multiple Streams of Income for Artists and Crafters starts today, May 3, and runs for two weeks. Laura has tons of great information for you, including info on monetizing your blog, print on demand, and product design. Jen Goode, Priscilla Burris, Claudine Hellmuth, Tim Adam and Tara Reed will be contributing content, as well as your truly. If you would like to make money doing what you love, sign up now! I can’t think of a better way to spend $32.

Multiple Streams of Income Ecourse

28 Apr

Are you a crafter who would like to make money doing what you love? Laura Bray, one of the great designers on our Sizzix ScoreBoards blog hop, is offering a two week long ecourse called Multiple Streams of Income for Artists & Crafters. Learn how to increase your revenue stream by using your artwork in many ways. I am excited and honored to be part of this program and will present a segment on Product Development. This will be an on-line live chat where we’ll discuss developing a product concept and getting it to market. The course will be held May 3-14 and cost is $32. This is a great value for all of the information you’ll receive. Hope you will join us!

Sign up now- class starts on Monday. Invest some time in yourself and explore the possibilities in the craft industry!

Also please stop by Cool2Craft on Monday, May 3 at noon EST where I’ll be announcing WHO WON the ScoreBoard die for this round of the blog hop. We’ll see several versions of the teacup, designed by my fabulous designer friends, and hear about where the ScoreBoards are going… road trip!

It’s not too late to get in on the Sizzix giveaway! Leave a comment on the Rectangle Box blog hop just below this post and you’ll be in the running to win a ScoreBoards die. Make sure you do it by 6 PM Monday May 3. Good luck!

I’m Back…

10 Apr

Had some family things going on this week and have been on the road. Now I am getting ready for the next blog hop. This time, all of the designers will be creating a project using the Sizzix ScoreBoard teacup die. As an added challenge thrown in, Brenda Pinnick has provided us with two color palettes to work with from her ongoing series at Color U. Brenda is an amazing artist and I am so happy to be working with her on this! Please stop by on Wednesday, April 14th to see the latest designs.

I’ll be appearing on Cool2Craft on Monday, April 19 to introduce you to Jen Goode, the designer whose project received the most votes on our last hop. I will also announce the person whose comment was randomly selected to win a ScoreBoard die. Hmmm, who could it be? Come find out!

There are several opportunities being presented to me (all at once). Have I mentioned lately how much I love my job? 🙂

Enough talking- I actually had a little fun while watching Project Runway and made this cute basket. Instructions may be found at the Sizzix blog on Monday- you are getting a sneak peek!

Have a great weekend- hope it’s spring near you. The weather can’t seem to decide what it wants to do here in VA…

Meet Eileen

I grew up in a big family where there was always an art project in the works. Learning to think creatively has been a huge benefit throughout my life: from thirteen military moves and raising four children to developing product lines for craft manufacturers. Come visit and see a slice of my life...
