Quick and Easy 3D Art

15 Dec

Here’s a really great way to embellish your die cuts that takes no time at all, costs just pennies and adds a nice blast of color to your projects. What could this magical ingredient be? It’s Washi Tape!

I used the new Mixing Bowls die from the Sizzix Vintage Kitchen collection…

  1. Cover a piece of matboard with strips of washi tape. Turn the matboard over so the tape is facing the Mixing Bowls die and run through the Big Shot.
  2. Glue the rim to the underside of the lip of the bowl.DSCN6145
  3. Place foam squares on the back of the bowl.DSCN6150
  4. Print a saying on the computer. (I saw the quote somewhere on Pinterest.) You could also use a rubber stamp to transfer the sentiment or doodle the words.DSCN6151
  5. Mount the bowl above the saying and place inside the frame. I didn’t use glass but that’s up to you.
  6. DSCN6153Just another Quick and Easy way to use dies in your crafting! Come on back tomorrow for our Team post and see lots of great ideas for the holidays. It’s not too late!

I have to be honest, washi tape is not something I use, despite having lots of it….. but this is fabulous and you may just have inspired me to have a go! Thanks, as always for the inspiration Eileen! Hugs, Anne xx

Same here Anne! I have been collecting it hoping that someday I would figure out what to do with the washi tape 🙂 now I love using it for covering matboard because you can customize to whatever colors and patterns you want. Thanks for your comments Anne and for all you do for the team!
