DIY Stenciled Wedding Keychain

13 Mar

My friend Amy Anderson of Mod Podge Rocks has come out with her own line of  stencils for Plaid! See how to make these DIY keychains using Amy’s Plaid stencils, Sizzix dies and Clearsnap inks.

The patterns are fun, clean and graphic which make them great for kids, home decor projects, cards or scrapbook layouts. One of the features I really like is that the stencils have an adhesive back. That means the design will stick down evenly over your surface. Genius- no more paint leaking underneath! The adhesive lasts through about 20 uses. You can find the stencils in your local Michael’s store.

My daughter is getting married in six weeks and her fiance is a car buff. What better favors to make than wedding keychains?

I used some matboard from my stash and cut out shapes using the Labels & Buttons die.

You will need:

  • Peel and Stick stencil for Mod Podge- Skeleton Key
  • Sizzix Labels & Buttons die by Eileen Hull
  • Matboard
  • ColorBox™ Blends by Eileen Hull- Bay, Sunshine and Leaf
  • Ball chain, eyelets, Crop a Dile, pencil
  1. Die cut labels from matboard.wedding dress
  2. Remove backing from stencil and position where desired.
  3. Swirl Blends inks in the open area and blend in one color to the next. Lift up stencil.DIYStenciledKeychain_eyeletsED
  4. Punch holes with Cropodile.
  5. Add an eyelet and chain. Write phrases on keychains. Quick and easy

Make sure you go to Amy’s site and check out the other projects! Thanks for stopping by…
